We have always been intrigued by the mystery surrounding aliens and unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in a lot of science fiction movies over the decades, but we’ve heard a lot about discovering them in real life, but none of the reports have ever led us to a clear conclusion, or an authentic source to verify their appearance.
Therefore, in an effort to discover these unraveled answers, NASA has organized a 16-member team.
Taking the news to Twitter, Nasa wrote, “We have selected 16 individuals to participate in an independent study team on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), or observations in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena. The nine-month study will start on Oct. 24″
In a release, the space agency noted that the independent study team would lay the groundwork for NASA and other organizations to research the nature of UAPs in the future. To accomplish this, the team will identify how civilian government data, commercial data, and other data can potentially be used to shed light on UAPs. Once the roadmap has been set, it will make recommendations on how the agency can analyze UAP data in the future.
By the middle of 2023, a full report containing the findings of the team will be released to the public based solely on unclassified information.
Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of NASA Headquarters’ Science Mission Directorate, said, “Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the heart of who we are.” Understanding the data we have about unidentified aerial phenomena is crucial to drawing scientific conclusions about what’s happening in the skies. Scientists use data to explain the unexplainable.”
It is of interest for national security and aircraft safety to identify unidentified aerial phenomena, which fits well with NASA’s mission to ensure aircraft safety. As it is nearly impossible to verify or explain any observation without access to a large set of data, the focus of this study is to inform NASA about what data it could collect in the future to safely discern the nature of UAP.
