The latest report suggests that Instagram is working on a feature that will allow users to add music to their profiles. This seems to be a rip-off of Myspace’s platform.
According to the mobile developer and reverse app engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, Meta’s Instagram plans to incorporate this feature into its bio section.
“Here is where your chosen song will be shown in your #Instagram bio,” he tweeted along with screenshots of how the new feature will be displayed. “Currently, the music is not played but this may change before official release.”
Like MySpace’s ability to add songs, this update allows you to choose a song to play on your profile that might represent who you are, your current mood, or your favorite song right now. Anything that comes to mind could be it.
To add a song, you will need to navigate to “Edit profile,” and then a “Music” option will appear, with the option to search for a song and add a caption if you wish.
As of yet, Instagram is not going live with this feature. It is currently undergoing testing.
