What is Corona Virus?
Coronavirus is a family of viruses that can cause a range of life-threatening diseases in humans including the common cold and more severe forms such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The virus is named for the shape that takes the form of a crown with protrusions around it and is therefore known as coronavirus.
We all know Covid has become pandemic and spreading rapidly in every country. Recently, WHO come up and declared COVID as pandemic while announcing important precautions to prevent coronavirus.
With the precautions, there are also fake and misleading claims circulating on whatsapp about coronavirus. One of the myths,” Coronavirus can be cured by Garlic” Apparently, people are just being gullible and sharing to everyone without any forethought.
DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON INTERNET ABOUT CORONA VIRUS. Most of the articles are all bogus and not scientifically proven. There have been tons of rumors and myths going around with coronavirus since its outbreak. We’ll show you some myths and rumors you should ignore.

Myths and Rumors
1. Eating Non-veg Causes coronavirus
Nope! There is no evidence to show that eating non-veg food like chicken, mutton, and fish will get you coronavirus. There’s no particular proof to show eating non-veg causes coronavirus. Many people are thinking that non-veg can cause coronavirus. But, that’s not the case. You can eat non-veg only when they are steamed and cooked properly. WTO urges not to eat uncooked meat or non-veg or if it’s not cooked properly.
2. Coronavirus transmit through mosquitoes
Not at all! Coronavirus cannot be transmitted through mosquitoes. There are other viruses that are distinctive from coronavirus which can be transmitted through mosquitoes such as Zika, dengue, chikungunya. As far as the coronavirus is a respiratory virus. It cannot be transmitted through mosquitoes. Just fun real fact: If Coronavirus could be infected by mosquitoes. Do you think you will be still alive? Nearly, most of the population on the earth would’ve died now and would have become grave.
3. Garlic cure coronavirus
How can some people believe all this small-minded myth which doesn’t make any sense whatsoever? Yea, Garlic is a source of antimicrobial and antibacterial properties which is helpful for the prevention of illness, cough, cold, and flu. But that doesn’t mean, it could cure coronavirus aswell. WHO officially stated that garlic won’t cure coronavirus and still, there is no evidence to show that garlic cures coronavirus.
4. You won’t get coronavirus when you wear a face mask
No, the statement is wrong! Wearing a face mask won’t keep you getting from coronavirus. You could get coronavirus even if you’re wearing a mask. But, everyone was suggested to wear a mask to minimize the risk factor of attacking the coronavirus. It can be only transmitted when you contact an infected person when he coughs and sneezes.
5. You will die if you get coronavirus
False! To prove wrong. In the world, 39,959,651 coronavirus total cases are reported. Out of them, only 1,114,641 people have died so far which suggests there’s less chance of dying when you get the coronavirus. Only a 3% death rate is reported out of 100%. However, the people who are older over 70+ have more probablity to die due to their weak respiratory system and weak immune system. Of course, some resisted and fought it. Though, If an old person has a condition as asthma, diabetes, and heart problems. They are more likely to prone to death of corona.

6. You cannot take parcels from china
You might be scared and overprotective that receiving parcels and products from china may cause coronavirus. But, it won’t transmit through boxes and parcels. If an infected person or coronavirus attracted to your product or parcel. It can only survive for a few hours or a few days. Still, if you are unsure about the parcel. It’s wise to sanitize them first with gloves and open them safely 🙂
7. It is intentionally produced by humans
There are some rumors saying that it was invented deliberately to harm people as bio-war. Yet, there is no valid evidence to believe that it was intentionally developed. According to WHO, It was naturally originated.
8. Will coronavirus survives on hot weather?
Many articles have been reported that covid can’t be survived in hot weather and humid climates. If it’s true, we would have kicked it way ahead. WHO states that even despite of you’re living in hot or humid weather. Coronavirus can be transmitted through any place irrespective of climate conditions.
9. Coronavirus spread through contact of pets
Nope! if you’re a pet owner or own any dog and cat. Don’t worry you don’t need to get scared. So far, there is no particular proof or evidence to show that coronavirus can be transmitted through pets. Though, you’re still recommended to clean your hands with alcohol contained soaps or hand sanitizer to avoid the risk factor.
10. Medicine/vaccine for coronavirus
To date, there is no medicine or vaccine to cure or treat coronavirus ( COVID19 ). Though fortunately, WHO recently stated covid vaccine will be available by December of 2020.
In the meantime. All you have do is prevention. Prevention is better than cure.
